College football fantasy, without the busywork
Draft schools,
not players.
Gameday Empires is a free college football fantasy game for you and your friends. Snake-draft a roster of schools, then watch real Saturdays decide it: every time one of your schools beats a team that holds land, it takes that land on the empire map. Biggest empire at the end of the season wins.
How it compares to regular fantasy football
| Question | Player fantasy | Empire league |
|---|---|---|
| What you draft | Players | Whole schools |
| Weekly work | Set lineups, work the waiver wire | None. Your schools play, the map updates |
| Injuries and transfers | Can sink your season | Don't matter: the school still plays |
| How you score | Yards, touchdowns, points formulas | Land your schools hold on the real map |
| When it's decided | Fantasy playoffs | The end of the season, bowls included |
| Cost | Often an entry fee | Free for up to 10 friends; no money changes hands |
Questions
Is this a fantasy football league?
It's a fantasy game for college football, but you draft schools instead of players. If your schools win real games, they take land on the empire map, and the biggest empire at the end of the season wins your league.
Do I need to know every roster?
No. If you know which schools are good (or which ones are about to surprise people), you know enough to draft well.
Can I join mid-season?
Yes. Start a league any week. Standings count from the land your schools hold, so a late league is still a fair race.
Is it gambling?
No. There are no entry fees and no cash prizes, and no money moves between members. You play for bragging rights, badges and crests.
